How to Prepare for Planning Meetings with Your Remodeler

Starting a remodel can feel daunting, but a little preparation makes your early planning meetings with Hopedale Builders much more productive and maximizes your precious time. If you have architectural plans, share them in an email in advance of the first meeting. If not, we can connect you with trusted designers and architects who would be a good fit for your particular project's needs.  All we ask is that you come with a clear list of your needs, wants, and priorities so we can better serve you.

Inspiration photos are also helpful, so bring pictures of cabinet styles, tile, plumbing fixtures, and more if you have them. This gives us direction for your goals and helps keep decisions moving smoothly.

The Investigative Period

Because our pre-construction process begins once plans and your contract scope are in place, your input on style and finishes helps us recommend the best showrooms and representatives for your project. Bring any questions you have about the timeline, selection deadlines, or how to prepare your home. You can think of this as the investigative or feasibility period.

What to Expect When You Work with Us

After you sign with our team, a lot happens behind the scenes before construction begins. The pre-construction process typically takes six to ten weeks, depending on the size of your project and permitting timelines. We submit for permits, which usually take about eight weeks for additions and less time for interior renovations. You’ll be set up in our online project management tool, where you can view schedules, track progress, review selections, and communicate with us anytime.

Your project coordinator will guide you through selections, set clear deadlines, and help coordinate visits with trusted showroom representatives. Another task for the coordinator is to examine all quotes for accuracy and post them for your approval. Your project manager will review the plans and scope, walk the site, and discuss staging, site protection and security, dumpster placement, and which rooms to clear out ahead of time. We focus on every small detail, getting everything arranged perfectly before construction even begins.
