An architect referred this Eastover, Charlotte, NC client to our Hopedale Builders team, which is exactly how we like to begin. These homeowners wanted to expand their usable square footage, convert attic space, and upgrade their home's facade. We did all of that and more. 

A Second Story Addition Changes the Game

This whole home remodel came with a second-floor addition with an attic conversion. By repurposing attic space and tying a new structure into existing framing, the home addition delivered bedrooms, storage, and better circulation without a sprawling footprint. From the street, the aligned roofline, a modern steel door, and balanced proportions help the house feel like it has always belonged, an important goal in any renovation.

Inset Built-Ins, Window Seats, and Custom Cabinetry

Custom storage features appear throughout, starting with inset built-in bookshelves that organize favorite reads and family photos. Custom cabinetry anchors bedrooms and halls with measured proportions and durable finishes that hold up to daily use. We also added window seats that double as storage and a comfortable place to read. 

Wall Paneling and Arched Openings

In the main living and breakfast areas, new wall paneling gives these spaces scale and elegance. Two arched openings guide you into the entertaining space with an easy curve. At the front of the house, a custom steel entry door sets the tone before you step inside. Modern lighting fixtures define the space at any time, from early mornings to late nights.

Fluted Honed Marble Tile for a Fireplace

The fireplace received its own facelift. We installed a fluted honed marble tile surround at the existing fireplace mantel, mitering corners and scribing edges for a snug fit. The grooves offer a great texture and the fireplace now complements the updated look of the space.
