Project: Kitchen Remodel

Goal: Create a Bright, Open Kitchen for Entertaining

Location: Raintree

Architect: Karen G. Barton

This client in Charlotte’s Raintree neighborhood came to us hoping to solve their biggest daily frustration. The existing kitchen was small, dark, and boxed in, making everything from meal prep to hosting guests feel more like a chore than a joy. After looking at our work, these homeowners knew we were the remodeler for the job.

Updating and Customizing the Space

The dated stained cabinetry and lack of natural light only added to the sense of confinement. With limited flow and little connection to the outdoors, the space simply didn’t support the way she lived or entertained.

Our client envisioned a light and bright kitchen that felt open, practical, and made for socializing.

Let There Be Light

The first order of business was brightening things up. We installed larger windows above the kitchen sink, instantly drenching the space with natural light. This move changed the entire mood of the kitchen.

Next, we tackled the home’s layout. A new door in the laundry room now opens directly onto the patio for easy access.

Custom Cabinetry and More

This kitchen renovation was a full transformation. We installed frameless custom cabinetry that could hide no shortage of dishes. A custom range hood became the sculptural focal point, giving the space elegance without excess.

Let’s talk about that feature range wall backsplash: shimmering creamy white chevron tile with a crackle tile finish. The result? A soft, textural glow that dances with the light and adds an instant element of extra. It’s fresh, timeless, and just a little glamorous.

French Pantry Doors

For someone who entertains often, storage needs to be as beautiful as it is useful. The new pantry's glass French doors lead to custom shelving inside, making organizing and showing off easy.

A Laundry Room Renovation

The laundry room renovation took cues from the kitchen, continuing the same aesthetic for a cohesive feel. It’s now a cleverly planned space with a built-in dog bed and contributes to the overall flow of the home.

A Kitchen Fit for Entertaining

What started as a dark, tight kitchen is now a kitchen built for entertaining. With elevated finishes, improved utility, and a space designed for gatherings, this South Charlotte home now fits our client's lifestyle.
