More Than a Kitchen Remodel in Pellyn Woods: Readying a Home for a Growing Family

With a growing family, a baby on the way, and two dogs underfoot, this Charlotte remodel needed to be perfect and timely. The homeowners temporarily moved out to keep things efficient, then returned near the finish line to a remodeled home that finally matched their lifestyle. From a tailored kitchen remodel to a hardworking mudroom renovation, every space was designed with equal parts beauty and function, because real life does not wait.

Updating This Charlotte Home

This project brought together a refined powder room remodel, thoughtful pantry storage, efficient laundry room design, and a cohesive living room facelift. A mix of transitional design elements and custom cabinetry ties each space together while allowing individual moments to stand out.

Slab Repair and Protection

Of course, the most important upgrades are not always visible. During demolition, we discovered the concrete beneath the existing tile floor had settled because it had been originally poured on uncompacted fill with no structural support beneath it. We corrected this with concrete caissons and grade beams, ensuring the new floor would be built to last.

Full Site Protection

The homeowners had recently completed a new driveway and stone retaining wall. Full site protection was a must! We blanketed the driveway in plywood and wrapped the retaining walls in a protective shell before a single piece of equipment rolled in.

Inset Cabinetry and Wolf Range with Sub-Zero Refrigerator 

This luxury kitchen design centers around inset cabinetry with a painted perimeter and a rich walnut kitchen island topped with Sereno Gold quartz countertops. The appliance lineup includes a 48-inch Wolf dual-fuel range and a Sub-Zero refrigerator, delivering the performance expected from high-end kitchen appliances.

To support it all, we installed a makeup air system to meet the high-CFM range hood requirements, paired with a remote-blower range hood for quiet kitchen ventilation and effective noise reduction.

Mudroom and Laundry with Frameless Cabinetry

The mudroom renovation and laundry room design feature streamlined frameless cabinetry and thoughtful storage throughout. The custom mudroom cabinetry includes lattice drawer inserts, adding subtle character without overcomplicating the space.

In the laundry, Black Absolute leathered granite offers durability with texture, ideal for a room that works as hard as this one does.
